Some older pieces that I enjoyed making, a lot, I am so busy with tents at the moment that I have not  been able to make paintings, but seeing these again was cool.
I have found a new studio to work out of, my good friend Bartel is renting me his shop, its the perfect space to work from, and its a two minute walk from my old home! Very excited to be so close to my son, and my old stompin grounds!

Spent a super hot day under a shade tree by the lake, good decision, I was nice and cool by the water and managed to kick out this oil sketch, needs a bit of touch yet but I think it represents the iconic Slocan Lake view.

The river is low, the glacial runoff and rainwater usually fills it by July, here's hoping that the dry hot summer being predicted isn't too severe.

Another fine painting day with my friends Brigitte Debois and Stephanie Gauvin, the weather started out a bit damp but we toughed it out, and we were rewarded with a nice day and some fun painting time.

Nancy Green Lake

I was in Rossland on Friday, so I whipped over to Nancy Green and then whipped out an oil painting!

Hug Point, in one of the many beautiful State Parks in the region. Not really finished with the painting yet, but what the hey.

A few days off, then some hiking and painting. Love this beach, after a walk through the rainforest you emerge on this place. Apparently the movie "Goonies" was filmed here, back in the day.

Rain this morning, worked on the commissioned painting of Mt. Temple (you will see it when its done), hiked into the state forest after lunch, painted this in the afternoon, love this place. Beautiful rainforest trail, numerous points to view the ocean from.
Tomorrow, painting a distant lighthouse you can see from a place called Indian Beach.

Last painting on Vancouver Island for 2014, heading to Oregon tomorrow.
