A few days off, then some hiking and painting. Love this beach, after a walk through the rainforest you emerge on this place. Apparently the movie "Goonies" was filmed here, back in the day.

Cannon Beach Arts Festival "Dueling Easels" at Dragonfire Gallery Nov. 11 2014

Kind of a cool event, two artists switching off on each others canvases every half hour for a two hour period, then the finished paintings, each with both artists signatures, are auctioned off for charity.
One piece fetched $800, the other $1000.

Stunning day, fine weather, good painting day, met lots of folks on the beach, big arts festival here this weekend, looking forward to it.

Rain this morning, worked on the commissioned painting of Mt. Temple (you will see it when its done), hiked into the state forest after lunch, painted this in the afternoon, love this place. Beautiful rainforest trail, numerous points to view the ocean from.
Tomorrow, painting a distant lighthouse you can see from a place called Indian Beach.

Cannon Beach

Didn't paint today, rained hard till this afternoon, I walked for about 10 miles up and down Cannon Beach after the rain passed, looking, and observing, visualizing my painting for Ecola Park tomorrow,  the weather forecast is fair and I am painting all day, thank goodness, back to work. This is a photo of Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach, an impressive monolith.

My first view of the Pacific, a place called South Beach, Wa., on a beautiful day. I am now at Cannon Beach Or., it is raining so hard I may just get washed away. It is really scenic here, and I am biting at the bit to get painting. The forecast says it will start to improve on Wed., so until then I am going to work on a commissioned painting inside the trailer.
