Clapboard Church, Utah, 12x16 in. oil on canvas, Feb 21, 2015
Little building just outside Moab, I am thinking it was a church or schoolhouse at one time, maybe both.

Utah desert #2
Utah desert composition, 18x24, oil on canvas, Feb. 13 2015
Today I drove for many miles, trying to see as much countryside desert and scenery as I could, I have to say once again how stunning it is. I did manage to sketch this painting out once I got tired of driving and realizing I was running out of painting time.

Back to Moab Utah
Onion Creek Utah, 18x24 oil on canvas Feb 2 2015
Yesterday I made for Monticello Utah, but I was having such a fine time driving, I kept right on going, ended up in Moab, and very glad indeed. Moab is a very fine place, and the landscape here is stunning, to say the least. Ran out of propane and food last night, so this morning restocked and fueled up, then drove down the River Road, following the Colorado River till I came to a place called Onion Creek, and I made this oil sketch.
Tomorrow, I am heading into Canyonlands, gotta get my painting mojo on.

Messas on the way to Canyonlands |Park oil on canvas 16x20 in.
Mr Pete Corbett, a most amiable painting companion.
One of the beautiful rock towers in Arches Park.
Arches Park at the end of the day.
Sunset through the rocks at Arches Park.
We went to Colorado today to stock up on some legal inspirational materials, a most enjoyable trek along Interstate 70, got back by 4, tomorrow we are assured of great weather and are headed into Arches park for a day long painting adventure.
The photos shown above are from a quick drive we did through there yesterday, it is so easily accessed, and the painting subjects are endless.

Painting with Pete in the desert!
Painting with Pete Corbett in Moab Utah!
I was drowning on the west coast, feeling as low as the barometer was reading.
Decided to meet up with Pete at Arches National Park, in the state of Utah.
Two snowstorms, two mudslides, six mountain passes (the highest elevation was 7,600 ft.),
and 4 days of driving brought me to this spectacular place.
Yes that's me, looking a bit fat with my down vest under my coveralls, but the temperature is only about 40f, gets down to about 28f at night. The trailer is cozy and warm though.
These photos don't do the place justice!
I have more photos, and a new painting to post for the next time we are in town and have access to the web. I forgot to bring the USB cord from todays painting trip, so next time to see todays work!
