Portrait of The Jughandle, 29in. dia., oil on board, Feb 16, 2015

Not really gone missing, just camping in a place with no internet, going to stay there a few more days, then start a slow trek southwards. Next post probably won't be for a few days.

Utah desert #2

Utah desert composition, 18x24, oil on canvas, Feb. 13 2015

Today I drove for many miles, trying to see as much countryside desert and scenery as I could, I have to say once again how stunning it is. I did manage to sketch this painting out once I got tired of driving and realizing I was running out of painting time.

Outstanding place, outstanding weather, outstanding people!

Canyonlands composition 16x22 oil on canvas Feb. 8 2015
Canyonlands composition unfinished due to many and very friendly tourists! Today I met people from Israel, Korea, Florida, Germany, Colorado, California, New York, Texas, and Washington. I got very little painting done, but I had a great time meeting all those folks!

My faithful old truck heading into the desert.

Without doubt, one of the prettiest places I have ever been to.

After painting, I took a walk along the rim of Dead Horse Point Canyon, stunningly beautiful place.
